Enough With Your Blog Already

Alright, I'm going to be very clear on a few things. The blogs on my sidebar are the only few blogs that I would actually read on a constant basis and while I might not comment on them on a regularly, it doesn't mean I'm not there in the first place. The rest of the blogs that have been put onto "My Blogging World", well are blogs that I read occassionally, those that I either found aggregated on Project Petaling Street or just the random friends I bump into every now and again.

So really if I don't know you or if your blog never caught my eye in the first place. Why in the world should I add you at all? I don't care if you linked me. That's nice and all, but really…who the hell are you?

The thing is, I don't have much time to read other people's blogs either. I do have PPS open all the time on my tab but there are just so many good posts to read before it just dissolves into the pack of hoard mentality noodle posts that is peppered by politics and religion which incidentally are the two things I tend to avoid like the plague. Even so, those that know the situation and can relate to this, there is just a remarkably small amount of good blogs out there that is just worth coming back to over and over again.

Then again I suppose that is for the better since at the end of it, the people that have interesting blogs to read on a constant basis often spend their time away from it all just to come back the next day and put down something worth reading about. I, on the other hand work my way down to actually try and come back to spend the rest of my time reading about other people who otherwise have more interesting ways of living their lives than I do.

I live in a large town. It's a valid excuse.

But let it not be said that I dwell on the lives of other people who have interesting blogs. At the end of the day, it just comes down to the fact that everyone has a life of their own and I still have mine to live. I may always be looking for a few more addictive blogs to add to my sidebar but there is only so much time in the day before you just got to start living the rest of your life. By then, I really wish they'd have given us a little more time.

Too bad.

Ah, the joys of blogrolls! You can’t win with a blogroll. People are happy when you link to them and get most upset when you remove their link. I’ve had my Blogroll on hiatus for a while and I’ve been using Bloglines. I figured the people concerned know that I visit them and/or comment regularly. Yet I’m still undecided what to do with the Blogroll.

that’s the reason why i don’t link ALL my friends…just those whose blogs i read daily. you’re one of ‘em, and no i don’t expect you to link me. hehe.

i don’t believe in “you link me, so i must link you back” too. a few times i do have people who write to me to ask me to link them, then they say they will link me back. i replied that ok lah if you want me to link you, fine, i’ll do that but you don’t have to reciprocate by linking me back.

yeah i don’t give a damn if people don’t link me but being the nice person i am (ahem) if people wants me to link them, i’ll do so.

ChickyBabe: Well, if it helps, I’ve just decided to put down the blogs I do read and put everything else on a seperate page. Then…I deal with whatever flak that comes my way. You can’t win…but you’ll feel much more relieved once it’s done. Kinda like having an injection when you’re afraid of needles. :)

Lishun: Awww…really? But you’re on my links anyway. Just not up and center. :)

Lucia: Don’t you just hate it when people mail you to ask you to link to them? It’s ironically one of the most anti-social thing to ever do in blogging.

Pat: Really? Then explain why Dusty and I are on your links. :P

If you notice too, Ed, those links have not been updated since… I first got my wp blog, at least, not really. I tend to chunk in links and forget about them.

You sound like you have received loads of email asking you to link them. Haha… We don’t have that problem with our blog because we are not popular. Wahaha…
