You know you're getting older not because a new year is coming, but because you spent time sitting around talking about things which people younger than you apparently were too young to know such things.

You definitely know you're getting older when you begin to think that the olden days made sense and were far better than what you have now.

You definitely know you're getting older when old school has a generation gap that far exceeds it's newer replacements by at least one decade.
