Clueless In Blogging

Tomorrow marks my 4th year of blogging. Of all the handful of ideas thrown about over the past week, I've yet to actually start on it. In fact, I still don't have a clear picture in my mind how I'm going to go about it at all. Talk about having a big celebration.

I suppose I was expecting too much when asking people for their ideas on what they would like to see for my 4th anniversary post. Don't get me wrong, it's not that there weren't good ideas in the first place, just there wasn't much variation of ideas to begin with. With the time, knowledge and equipment that I have, its hard to accomplish what you have suggested. So I'm afraid, I'll have to pass on the ideas and go back to square one.

What I can do however is what I do best at my disposal. Given that it's my blog, I'm sure I can think of something. Or maybe I don't have to think at all. Maybe some of the best celebrations in life are the ones where you close your eyes and pick out the first thing that comes to mind. Spectacular fireworks notwithstanding, maybe simplicity would do a better job than being overly complicated. Given Footsteps in the Mirror's track record for giving a whole new perspective to the complex things in life, maybe we should go with what I started out with.

The simple words and a simple hope that this might lead to somewhere interesting.

After all, nobody said that going back to the beginning was such a bad idea.

Four years is a long time to blog. I hope I’ll still be blogging after even a year. Congratulations!

Personally I’m already having problems to decide what to blog about in my own blog. But whatever it is, just follow your gut feeling :) You’ve probably done something on what matters to you most and everything else. I think someone did mention about you taking a video of the daily things you do. It sounds pretty mundane but then again who isn’t curious about what you do all day. heh :D

    Hold a delurk competition?

    Best comment gets…
Best comment from someone who’s never commented before gets…

Ah Pek: Sure, though that 8 hour flight to where I live from Malaysia might be a bit too steep a transport cost for you. :)

Jeffrey: Slow and easy does it. Blog what you can, when you can and those years will seem like yesterday. :)

Dee: Not just a video. Someone wanted me running across it butt naked. No way in cold hell I’m doing that. The other thing is that even with podcasting, it’s taking me longer to produce it, so what more a video?

Cas: I did call on people to delurk though. The sad thing about it is no one really bothers at that point as much as I would like them to.

Far from it. :) Blogging started long before I started. But I was blogging right before it became a fad. :)

Ah, but if you offered them an incentive to delurk - nothing big, an iTunes voucher or something? It’s called me out of hiding on more than one occasion, and I am one of natures natural-born-lurkers!

Haha, I’m broke as it is. All I can offer is my words, my goodwill and my friendship. :) What called you out to comment in this case. :)

Chibster: More like 4 years of expressing my thoughts and feelings. :)

Katrina: Well, with free speech comes the need to be responsible for it. :) At least you have many more to go as well and nothing seriously came off it since you’re still blogging. :)

Four years when you are young, seems like such a long time, but now in my middle years, it is relatively short. It is amazing what you can accomplish in such a short period of time. Where were you four years ago…what have you learned in that space of time.
Four years ago…Sounds like my post of the day…I’ll give you a track back to this post, upon completion.
