If all of you read this post, you can understand literally how much I hate spam. I hate it so much that of course I would install one of the best anti spam plugins that WordPress has to offer.
Maybe it’s too good.
For some reason, recently I have been having problem with spam swollowing up my comments. It’s not the fact that I don’t care about those comments, it’s that because those false positive comments get covered up by the remaining 400 other real spam comments, there is no way in hell I am ever going to know whether you commented or not.
Unless you tell me.
I certainly don’t want you good people to assume that I don’t let you comment at all. It’s just that until the bugs are worked out of the system, all I can do is pull out the small number of comments that get swollowed up by the spam filter. The reason why I’m telling you this is because I certainly don’t appreciate snide comments like this insinuating things I do not do.
I really appreciate the fact that a lot of you have been patient and used the Contact Me page to tell me that you can’t post. Just puts the faith back in the common sense people have these days.
As far as I can tell from talking to the creator of the plugin, it’s an apparent bug in the system and the problem with spammers duplicating IP Adresses of those of you who are frequent posters. As a result, even domain names (like blogspot.com) can get munched up by the filter.
Until the problem is solved, the only way to get over this is to just contact me if your message gets eaten up by spam which can also happen in a delayed reaction time as a cummalative effect from other spam mails that are mass commenting in at the moment.
Until then…I like to keep those 800 over spam comments the way they are.
Far away from my blog.
