Reaching Out The Written Heart

Sometimes, when you least expect it, you do the things you promised yourself you would never do, not for the sake of your self, but for the sake of another. Someone who has shared their life so intimately with you, that their life reflect upon yourself like a watery mirror that ripples when a stone gets dropped in.

It's hard to perceive just how deep someone can affect you, more so when you've never seen them and never talked to them, save for the words imprinted upon your mind like a fresh memory, full of textures of emotions that it invokes. But they do happen, and when it does, your world becomes more than just a a sum total of your life, but the collective experience of all who share and connect with the same richness of feeling.

Such is a beautiful thing. Such we are never alone

A long time ago, I promised myself that I would never shed a tear for any reason whatsoever, that the moment in my life for grief is over.

Today, I may have broken that rule, not for my sake, but for that of a person I've long called a friend.
