I saw the strangest thing today
The neighbours fighting
Each refusing to give in to the other
Each wanting to be the person with the last say
I thought it depressing
I felt it
Had to swallow the tears to keep them in
This human guide-to-survival
Seems to click in each time we're faced with conflict
We fight back, we resist
We do whatever we can to keep ourselves from hurting
Without realizing that by fighting
We hurt ourselves
I wondered, when we would switch
I thought
Maybe if I started with me
One action at a time
I CHOOSE TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR EVERYTHING
I would be that switching point
Make that difference by being different
Would this change the world?
I thought I'd start that today.
