Chickybabe For The Bedridden Geek

Who'd have guessed I'd be doing 2 Chickybabes in the space of a couple of days?

  1. While not clearly obvious, having a laptop and a desktop at the same time might be considered overkill. However, when you're stuck in bed with work to do and a fever to wait out, having something small by your side that connects you to everything suddenly makes so much sense.
  2. I like my answers straight up and never in between. I know that's a lot to ask for in life, but sometimes you have to ask yourself that all important question during critical times. Can my body make up its mind on whether or not it's actually sick or not?
  3. As a general rule, nobody likes swallowing pins and needles. Unless of course you're part of a circus troupe or you're a street-side performer. Both which I'm not. So I don't have to tell you this sore throat is driving me nuts.
  4. Geeks are the worst friends you should ask help for to stop you from buying that geeky toy you've waited years to get. More so when your mind is as mushy from fever as overcooked peas.
  5. There is no substitute for warmth than a someone you can wrap your arms around. But sometimes for people like myself, the heat from that working CPU will do in a pinch.

Doing a "Chickybabe" refers to doing a list of random thoughts and is named in honour of ChickyBabe who awed me with her style of writing, especially when she did her set of random thoughts.

    You sound just like me!
    1. How about 2 desktops, 2 laptops, a wireless pda and smartphone, is that overoverkill?
    2. I’ve been the same, decided that I was sick.
    3. Hot lemon drink + scotch
    4. Mine is a skinny vaio.
    5. A cpu can’t bring you a hot drink and paracetamol.
    Get well soon.

    1. Good God! You’re a geeks wet dream in so many ways. I wouldn’t know what to do with so many toys. At least not at the top of my head. :)
    2. Probably should decide the same thing too.
    3. I’ve got the hot lemon drink, but scotch, now there is a medication I wouldn’t have considered.
    4. Mmmm…maybe you could buy me mine as well. :)
    5. No it can’t, no matter how well it can multitask. :)
Thanks. I will as soon as I stop having this deep bassy voice.

    1. Oh gawd… what to do? For a start you wouldn’t have time to rest when you’re sick.
    Hope you’re feeling better now.

WendyB: Not if we’re surounded by the things we love. :)

Cléa: Well what better way to take my mind off the fact I feel like dying. I feel better now by the way. Still wanting my new toy, but at least now I don’t sound like a frog.

I see Chickybabe’s blog is no longer. Pity that, I was a regular reader till last year, so checking via your link led me to discover she’s finished her blog.
