Chickybabe For The Net Junkie

It's about time to do another Chickybabe because as always, there are so many things to talk about and so little time to start elaborating it all.

  1. The instant messenger I've finally been waiting for is out. Pidgin 2.0 (formerly called Gaim) has gone out of beta and is released to the public. It's good to have all your instant messages from so many protocols wrapped up into one neat little program.
  2. While I've had it for a while, I've finally got the hang of Facebook as a social networking site to invest in. It doesn't mean I'll stop visiting my Friendster profile though.
  3. What do you do when you receive two same gadgets from eBay for the price of one? I wonder if it's ethical to keep the second and sell it off again for the same price?
  4. When all else fails, there is always the reset button. There is always Google's Browser Sync as well. Unfortunately, that can never apply to life.
  5. What strange world we live in, when we love the cold metallic surface and the mechanical beeps of the machine more than the sensual warm curves and familiar voice of the human body.

Doing a "Chickybabe" refers to doing a list of random thoughts and is named in honour of ChickyBabe who awed me with her style of writing, especially when she does her set of random thoughts.

Give me the name of one such person, and I’ll kick his face in for you. No charge.

    (1) Pidgin can wrap all our IM protocols into one? Including Skype arr?
    (2) I still haven’t gotten the hang of Facebook! Is it because I can’t find many of my friends in there?
    (3) If you had to think whether it’s ethical or not, it’s probably not. Why not give one away as a birthday present?
    (4) Ouh well, a lot of things cannot be applied to life. Reset. Restart. Refresh. Wait a minute. Refresh, yes :)
    (5) This is so so wrong. Get up! You’re dreaming!!

    1. Pidgin not Penguin?
    2. Pass… I’ve left high school, thanks.
    3. Yep, not your fault.
    4. Or my favourite, ctrl-z.
    5. I’d say there’s something wrong there for those who prefer metal to humans.

Jeffery: Haha, even if it’s free of charge, I don’t think I want people to kick me in the face. :)

    Pelf:
    1. Not including Skype, but for the most part, everything else as well.
    2. Not many Malaysians I know use Facebook. Though it’s great for connecting people and finding opportunities. The possibilities are endless what you can do with it.
    3. That’s an idea, but I don’t know who actually wants it as a present.
    4. I am wrong in so many places aren’t I? :)

    ChickyBabe:
    1. Oh how I wish it was penguin.
    2. Always good to keep track of the past. Facebook keeps track of your University and Work related networks too. That’s what makes it different.
    3. So I can make money off it?
    4. My kingdom for a universal undo button!!
    5. Again I would say, there is plenty wrong with me isn’t there?
