There is little that can be said for moments that change your life forever. The ones are not derived from the choices we take time to contemplate sleepless night's over, but the ones that are born from the smaller forks in he roads we take.
Left or right.
Go or don't go.
Kiss or don't kiss.
It's been more than 3 years (or almost 3 years, depending on which story we tell people) since Mel and I have been together. Throughout that journey, there was never any decision we made together or for one another that needed anything more than 5 minutes to mull over. At the end of it, we ended up with something unexpected – a relationship that worked regardless of the odds and differences.
Nevertheless, where we stand right now boiled down to whether it was the practical thing to do or whether it was something we could both enjoy. The little choices we took that never bothered us to make. We did things because we needed to, because we wanted to and because we could be content with the consequences.
I guess thing can be said about any relationship out there. That happiness or at the very least, contentment is about knowing that good things don't happen because of a single choice let alone a single day, but because you're committed to it every day, because you want to do it, everyday. That the best relationships happen because you're both alright with the choices made not just for yourself or for the other but for one another.
So for us, we will keep taking those little roads everyday. Small decisions that will keep pushing us forward one day at a time, until the lines of events are so blurred that it feels like an eternity of moments we never stopped enjoying. After all, that's how it should be. One moment shared after another.
Forever in a day, for as long as you both shall live.
