Mel: How did we get here?
Me: That is a very good question.

How does any of us get "here" anyway? It's one of those philosophical questions we've been asking for a very long time without an answer in sight. The thing is, do you expect an answer in the first place? I mean, if you're looking for an answer to that question then you're in the wrong place to begin with. I don't even know what I'm going to eat tonight let alone expect to answer how did we get here.

But I can throw out a few suggestions.

Maybe you got here because you were born into where you were. Maybe you got here because made some hard choices in life that cost you more than you could ever afford. Maybe you got here because you had someone pull you up to the better path when all was lost. Maybe you got here because you are the right person, at the right place, at the right time.

Or maybe, just maybe you got here because I carried you all the way from the chair. I've got no time for the long philosophical answers today, but it's as good as any answer to explain how we ended up on the bed to begin with.
