The “joy” of writing a thesis/paper is that you need references for EVERYTHING. LOL.

Pelf: Unless you happen to have a few things that would help you along the way. An undergrad student is preferable, but most of us have to make do with referencing programs like EndNote. :)

An undergrad to help write my thesis? I’d rather do it myself, even if it took me a month longer!

Pelf: No. An undergrad writing your references for you. They need the experience writing it anyway. :)

Well, thesis isn’t like blogging. With blogs there is more freedom to say the things you want in any style you like. But thesis writing means you gotta be constrained to the same standards and style set by your predecessors almost hundred of years ago.

To put it straight, thesis writing has to be done in your most boring and uninventive tone ever.

P.O.D: Even blogging has styles and protocols depending on what you’re writing. A lot of people just don’t realize that. Just as there is a certain freedom that comes when you’re writing a thesis. You just have to learn to play around with the words the same way you do when you’re writing a good blog post.

It’s the same thing, just because you can write whatever you want doesn’t mean it’s a good blog post, just as just following the rules to the letter doesn’t mean it’s a thesis worth reading.
